Last Minute Shoppers Waiting To Strike

Los Angeles – While many consumers were out shopping on
Black Friday and Cyber Monday, PriceGrabber reports millions of last minute
shoppers will be out spending this year.

A study by the online shopping site indicated that 41
percent of consumers plan to shop for holiday gifts between Dec. 21-24.

The survey was conducted from Nov. 17-30, 2011 of 13,472
U.S. online shopping consumers.

 When asked why they
wait till the last minute, 43 percent said they believe that is when the best
discounts can be found. Another 43 percent said it is the only time they have
to go shopping.

Showing a refreshing bit of honesty, 26 percent said they
are procrastinators and 22 percent cited the fun-factor of rushing out at the
last minute. Ten percent said they were waiting for their holiday bonus to be
handed out so they could use it for shopping.

The actual passing of the main holiday period will not deter
some consumers from doing their shopping in January. Nine percent of those
surveyed said they would wait for the new year.

PriceGrabber found more people are now using daily deal
sites to find last minute sales and save money. About 27 percent said they will
look for last minute gifts on Groupon or LivingSocial.
