Cologne, Germany — Kodak introduced several new consumer and professional imaging products at the Photokina Trade Show, here, today.
For consumers, Kodak added a new ultra-zoom to its EasyShare lineup. The 7-megapixel Z710 features a 10x optical zoom (38mm-380mm, 35mm equivalent), 2-inch LCD, in-camera cropping, 18 scene modes, three color modes and 32MB of internal memory. It can fire off bursts of up to three images at 1.7 frames per second (fps) and records VGA resolution video at 10fps in the QuickTime format.
The camera works with the recently introduced G600 printer dock.
The Z710 is shipping now for a suggested retail of $299.
Camera phone users can avail themselves to the new Photo Printer 350, a Bluetooth enabled snapshot printer. The 350 can accept images wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled camera phones and features a USB port for PictBridge printing. It can also connect to a PC via USB. It is initially shipping in Australia and will be available in the United States later in the year.
Kodak also introduced a new self-service digital photo kiosk. The GS digital station is targeted toward “medium volume” retail environments and features a 17-inch touch screen display, built-in Bluetooth, and the ability to print a 4 by 6 inch photo in 11 seconds. It will initially be available in Europe.
For existing kiosk owners, Kodak announced a new version of its G4 kiosk software. Version 1.1 supports the creation of greeting cards, calendars and collages from a kiosk without additional hardware. It also sports a new user interface and helps improve system performance with 50 percent quicker processing speeds over previous generations, Kodak said.
Kodak also announced that its kiosks will be capable of authoring DVDs with a new DVD writer.
