Kodak Introduces Frames With Quick-Touch Border

Rochester, N.Y. — Kodak will expand its line of digital frames with the addition of three new models.

The company is now segmenting its frame line into wireless (at the high end), multimedia and photo, at the entry level. The new models announced today fall into the multimedia and photo product families and are available now.

All the frames will offer 16:9 aspect ratio displays and a new “quick-touch” border that lets consumers control the frame through a touch-screen interface at the front of the frame without putting their fingers directly on the center of the screen.

The frames will also include new Easyshare Digital Display software and silver and red interchangeable mattes. Additional mattes will be sold by Kodak online.

The 8-inch M820 and 10-inch M1020 will be multimedia frames capable of playing MP3 files and MPEG -1/-4 video files. They will feature a back-lit quick-touch border, built-in speakers, 128MB of internal memory, and a pair of SD card slots for adding additional memory. The M820 will retail for $179, while the M1020 will retail for $229.

The 7-inch P720, for $119, will fall into Kodak’s entry-level photo line of frames. It will feature a standard quick touch border and accepts USB flash drives, xD and Memory Stick memory cards in addition to offering two SD card slots.
