Kodak Adds PlayTouch Pocket Cam

Rochester, N.Y. –

Eastman Kodak

introduced Monday the next
addition to its pocket video camera line — the PlayTouch, featuring a 3-inch
capacitive touchscreen.

The PlayTouch also
includes FullHD 1080p video recording, new on-camera editing and a Share Button
to simplify sending files to social-networking sites.

The PlayTouch is
shipping in a choice of Smoke Gaze (black), Chrome, Wine Country (magenta),
Cabana (orange) and Spa Blue (teal) for a $230 suggested retail.

Other features
include built-in image stabilization, an LCD glare shield and an external
microphone jack.

The camcorder also
carries over the built-in USB arm to simplify transferring files and changing
the unit’s battery.

The Share Button
lets consumers tag videos and pictures directly on the camera for automatic
upload to popular social-networking sites once they connect the camera to the
computer.

“Kodak has firmly
established itself as a leader in the digital pocket video camera space since
introducing its line in 2008, and continues to be one of the most highly rated
and recommended in this category,” stated Phil Scott, Kodak digital capture and
devices marketing VP.

The PlayTouch also
includes the ability to capture 5-megapixel HD still pictures; Smart
face-tracking technology; an external stereo microphone jack; SD cart supporting
up to 32GB cards; HDMI output; four capture effects, including B&W, sepia,
high saturation, and a 1970s film look; and compatibility with PC and Mac iLife
products.
