Toronto - Kobo today released its Windows 8 e-reader app to
coincide with the launch of the new operating systems' consumer beta launch.

Kobo's free app is available at the Windows 8 app store, a
company spokesman said. Microsoft has not announced an exact launch date of the
final version of the OS. The beta launch was unveiled at the Mobile World
Congress event being held in Barcelona, Spain.

The Windows 8 app will feature an improved interface and
library view for searching a collection. There will be Cloud storage for books
purchased, and it will work on a desktop, laptop or tablet.

Microsoft has optimized Windows 8 for the tablet and
touchscreen products.
