Klipsch Brings Synergy To Market

8/24/2010 12:01:00 AM Eastern
Indianapolis - Klipsch refreshed its moderately priced Synergy series of in-room speakers by incorporating revised horn tweeters, new crossover networks and a more contemporary look.

Eight new models consist of three floorstanding towers (F-30, F-20 and F-10) at a suggested $598 to $998 per pair, one bookshelf model (B-20) at $279 per pair, two center channels (C-20 and C-10) at $199 and $299 each, and two surround speakers (S-20 and S-10) at $329 and $479 per pair.

All models feature a revised Tractrix Horn throat geometry that enabled Klipsch to lower their crossover point to increase mid-range frequency presence, a spokesperson told TWICE. Tractrix Horn technology delivers high efficiency, improved reliability, a wide soundstage, and well-defined imaging, the company said.

The five speakers with 1-inch tweeter (F-30, F-20, F-10, C-20, S-20) add a new Linear Travel Suspension and aluminum-diaphragm compression drivers, said to work together to deliver more piston-like motion to reduce high-frequency distortion and create a more open, natural sound, the company said.

The surround speakers feature the company's Wide Dispersion Surround Technology (WDST), said to reproduce localized and ambient sounds with maximum dispersion and allow for greater placement flexibility.

The speakers are available in black-ash vinyl veneer with gray accents. The horns now feature a black finish, and the speakers' grille cloth is darker to match today's flat-panel TV bezels.

Mark Casavant, product development VP, said the changes enable the company to "offer users an even higher level of the renowned Klipsch sound performance at nearly the same price points as before."

Klispch also launched a new Reference II series.
