KEF Launching 2 In-Ceiling Series

Marlboro, N.J. –

KEF

launched two new in-ceiling speaker series,
both with thin bezels and one with the company’s proprietary Uni-Q driver
configuration, which places the tweeter in the acoustic center of the woofer to
deliver wide, even dispersion.

The other series features
asymmetrical tweeter island to deliver near Uni-Q performance at a lower price.

Both series feature a new ultra-thin
bezel, a smaller footprint and an improved “tangerine” waveguide to further
enhance dispersion, a spokesman said. Most models are in stock and ready to
ship, with the remainder due in about a month.

The three models in the QR series
feature Uni-Q driver configuration at $249 to $349 each. All are two-way
models. They are the $349-each Ci 200QR with 8-inch woofer and 1-inch
aluminum-dome tweeter, $299 Ci160QR with 6.5-inch woofer and 0.75-inch
aluminum-dome tweeter, and $249 Ci130QR with 5.25-inch woofer and 0.75-inch
aluminum-dome tweeter.

The CR series with asymmetrical
tweeter island consists of four two-way priced from $179 to $274 each. One is a
single-speaker stereo model with dual tweeters to deliver stereo sound from one
speaker. The CR speakers are the $274 Ci200CR with 8-inch woofer and 1-inch
aluminum-dome tweeter, the $224 Ci160CR with 6.5-inch woofer and 0.75-inch
aluminum-dome tweeter, $179 Ci130CR with 5.25-inch woofer and 0.75-inch
tweeter, and $274 Ci160CRds single-speaker-stereo model with dual 0.75-inch
aluminum-dome tweeters and one dual-voice-coil 6.5-inch woofer.
