Kaleidescape, Crestron Integrate Systems

3/08/2004 11:40:00 AM Eastern

Mountain View, Calif. — Custom installers who want to install a Kaleidescape’s multizone movie server have another option now that systems-integration supplier Crestron has developed a software module that lets its network system control Kalediescape servers from any room in the house.

Kaleidescape’s hard-disc drive movie server previously had to be used with dedicated clients in each room via CAT5 Ethernet wiring. Now, the servers can also be integrated with Crestron’s home-control systems, which use touchscreens to control such home systems as lights, security, distributed-audio systems, and distributed-video systems.
