JVC Launches Vacation Cash Promotion

11/13/2008 11:52:00 AM Eastern

Wayne, N.J. — Rather than slashing prices, JVC is looking to spark sales during this hard-pressed holiday season by running a promotion that gives purchasers of certain JVC A/V products an opportunity to earn credits towards a vacation.

The Vacation Promotion, which launches Nov. 15, will be offered nationally and gives participants a chance to earn up to $1,000 in vacation cash for the purchase of eligible JVC products.

In the promotion, which runs through Jan. 15, 2009, JVC is awarding a vacation cash credit for every dollar that participants spend on eligible JVC products.

The credits will count as equal value towards a vacation that they book in the future, JVC said.

The promotion offers awards Vacation Cash certificates that can be redeemed for discounts on any vacation package of the participant’s choosing to any location, the company said.

JVC products eligible for vacation credits include the company’s flat-panel LCD televisions, 1080p D-ILA front video projectors, home-theater systems and Everio hard-drive cameras.

“This holiday season, consumers are faced with a very difficult economic situation. At JVC, we’re offering them the opportunity to get more for their money — great JVC products plus cash toward a vacation,” stated Karl Bearnarth, JVC America marketing senior VP.

Vacation Cash certificates may be applied towards the purchase price of any qualifying combination round-trip air (Amtrak accepted) and standard hotel vacation package, or combination round-trip air and cruise vacation package, of at least four nights.

Consumers must book travel through the Vacation Cash travel agency within one year. Travel can take place up to 18 months from the end of the program.
