New York – J&R Music and
Computer World, along with Monster, Intel and Sony Music, are co-sponsoring a
free concert by Earth, Wind & Fire this afternoon at Manhattan’s South
Street Seaport.
Other sponsors of the event include
Roland and The New York Times.
According to J&R, the concert
celebrates the 40
th
anniversaries of both the New York A/V specialty
retailer and the Grammy Award-winning R&B band.
Monster will also use the occasion
to officially launch its Earth, Wind & Fire-inspired Gratitude headphones.
Observed Adam Block, executive VP
and general manager at Sony Music/Legacy Recordings, “The music of Earth Wind
& Fire remains as vibrant and vital as ever and there isn’t a more appropriate
way to celebrate that — and this milestone anniversary they share with New
York’s own J&R Music World — than with a show like this.”
