Gummersbach, Germany — Imaging accessories maker Jobo will ship a new, faster version of its Giga portable photo storage device to dealers at the end of the month.
The new Giga one ultra can download images at 5.47MB per second, twice as fast as its predecessor, the company said. It can offload 1GB of data from a memory card to its hard disk drive in about three minutes.
The Giga one ultra will ship in 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, and 200GB capacities for a suggested $149, $199, $229 and $329, respectively.
It accepts the popular flash memory card formats, and supports a number of file formats including RAW, JPG, TIF and MP3. It features a 2-inch LCD screen which displays the Giga’s remaining hard disk capacity.
