St. James, N.Y. – InComm is adding Global Warranty Group’s mobile
data-protection plan to its assortment of gift cards, debit cards, air time and
other prepaid products.
Under terms of the
agreement, InComm — a developer and distributor of prepaid offers — will provide
the mobile data-protectionprogram to a number of national drug
chains, wholesale clubs, convenience stores and big-box retailers in the U.S.
and Canada.
Global Warranty Group, which describes itself as the continent’s largest
dealer-based, third-party provider of insurance-backed handset replacement
programs, said its data-protection plan is a
new application for smartphones and PDAs that remotely backs up
and stores all content via a carrier-grade wireless network. The system is
compatible with all devices, carriers and operating systems; has a double-encryption
security feature to assure secure transmissions; and offers flexible storage,
retrieval and backup scheduling, the company said.
