Oakdale, Minn. — Imation announced its second-generation USB flash drive today, carrying over the swivel cap design from the first generation model.
The new Imation Swivel Drive Pro boasts a 50 percent increase in read speed, capable of reading files at 12MBps, the company said.
It also features a quick-release lanyard for transporting the drive. Imation offers free software on its Web site for password-protecting the drive.
The new USB 2.0 drive ships this month in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities with a suggested retail price range from $24.99 to $199.99.
