Palo Alto, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard reported today that it and replacement inkjet cartridge maker InkCycle have resolved a patent infringement suit, with the latter company agreeing to pay an undisclosed financial payment to HP.

According to an HP statement, InkCycle has agreed to acquire re-formulated, non-infringing ink sets for three InkCycle products in addition to its monetary payment.

The lawsuit was initially filed in March 2005 and it concerned InkCycle-sold replacement cartridges under the Staples brand contained patent-infringing ink.
