Haier Ships Thin Soundbar

New York – Haier is shipping a
soundbar said to be one of the thinnest on the market at 1.07 inches in depth.

The $349-suggested SBEV40-SLIM is
a wall-mountable 2.1-channel model with 2.4GHz wireless subwoofer and built-in Panoramic Virtual
Surround Sound, said to widen the sweet spot. It features two HDMI inputs that support 3D Blu-ray, game and
broadcast formats and an HDMI output with audio return channel.

The 160-watt system features 2×40
Class D amp to drive the four 3-inch drivers and two 1-inch tweeters, while the
subwoofer is driven by its own 80-watt amp. Crossover functions occur in the
digital domain. Preset EQ modes are configured for music, movies and news
sources.
