Los Angeles - GTX, which
deals in enterprise two-way GPS personal location services, announced it has
entered into an agreement with Adam, a platform for local app directories.
The partnership, which
takes the form of an exclusive revenue share agreement, enables 123 chambers of
commerce -- representing more than 100,000 businesses -- to push out proximity
alert promotions using the GTX GPS/PLS Platform.
A soft launch is planned
for next month, and it will include Adam's MyChamberApp. The app will offer daily
promos to users who have the LociMobile app.
According to GTX, market
research firm Gartner has reported that 42 percent of consumers use their phone
to check a store location, while 31 percent use it for a mobile promotion, and
17 percent use their phone for the actual purchase. Proximity marketing will
push location-based service revenues to nearly $13 billion over the next few
years, GTX said.
