Glikes Resigns As HTSA Exec

Chester Springs, Pa. – Richard Glikes has resigned as
executive director of the HTSA buying group.

In a statement, the group said that its board and Glikes
“have been unable to mutually agree to new contract terms. As a result, Glikes
has chosen to resign his position, effective Sept. 7, 2011.”

Glikes has served as executive director of HTSA for 15
years, according to Brian Hudkins and Jon Robbins, who serve on the executive
committee.

“Richard has done an excellent job as executive director,
and we wish him the best in his future endeavors” said Hudkins.

Glikes told TWICE, “I feel like I am opening a new door, and
I’m excited about looking at new opportunities.” Glikes is a 40-year veteran of
the CE industry.

In June at HTSA’s strategic planning meeting, the board
hired Mira International to facilitate plans for member growth and marketing
strategy, which includes the recruitment of the new positions of membership
relations manager and marketing strategist, according to a statement.

The board has elected to extend Mira International’s
strategic role to facilitate the executive director transition and recruitment
of a new executive director in addition to the two newly created positions.

 “This is an exciting
time for HTSA. We came out of our June planning session filled with new ideas
that we are ready to execute,” said Robbins. “All of us on the board of HTSA
look forward to our fall meeting, when we unveil additional details of our
plans to our members and vendor partners.”
