Geonaute 360-Degree Cam Cited As ‘Best Of CES’

LAS VEGAS – European sports electronics company Geonaute recently used International CES to introduce its spin on the emerging trend of 360-degree image capture.

In fact, the company’s Geonaute 360-degree action camera was a winner of a CES 2014 Best of Innovations Award in the digital imaging category.

The action video camera uses three wide-angle lenses, each with an 8-megapixel sensor that captures a 360-degree spherical image, creating 2K-resolution videos and 4K-resoloution photos, the company said.

Specifically designed for the sports enthusiasts, the aluminum-based Geonaute 360 is water-resistant, shock-proof and fits in a user’s palm. It is capable of more than two hours of continuous recording.

The camera uses the company’s low-energy ANT+ wireless technology, allowing remote control operation and syncing with other ANT+ devices, such as GPS or heart-rate monitors.

The Geonaute 360 pack is available now for preorder on the company’s website for a $499 suggested retail and includes a flat pad, curved pad, universal adaptor, MicroUSB-Y cable, lithium-ion battery, protective skin and a lanyard cord.

The cameras are expected to ship “later in 2014,” the company said.

The Geonaute company is comprised of a team of 85 sports/technology enthusiasts, dedicated to producing high-quality, easy-to-use products.
