Gateway Bows MC-Series Notebooks

Irvine, Calif. — Gateway’s new MC-Series laptops each feature a 16-inch edge-to-edge seamless glass widescreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 1,366 by 768 resolution.

Other features include its illuminated multimedia touch controls which surround the keyboard.

Model MC7801u comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5800 (2.0Gz) with Intel Centrino Processor Technology, 4GB of DDR2 667MHz memory and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. It also has a 320GB hard drive and a Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW with DVD-RAM and LabelFlash Technology. It comes in burgundy at a suggested $949.

The MC7803u builds upon the configuration of the MC7801u but features ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics with 512MB dedicated memory. It’s available in black at an MSRP of $999.

The laptops feature ambient light sensors to adjust brightness and an LED backlit illuminated keyboard.

Other features include an HDMI v1.3 connection, a 5-in-1 digital media manager, four USB 2.0 ports. It also has a 1.3 megapixel webcam and it offers users the ability to connect to the Web via an 802.11 a/g/draft-N wireless connection or via Gigabit Ethernet.

Both models come with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition with SP1. They also come with Microsoft Works 9.0 as well as a 60-day trial of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007.

The Gateway MC-Series is backed by a one-year limited warranty. New MC-Series models will be available this month.
