Galaxy Tab 8.9 Gets Embedded AT&T 4G

Dallas - Samsung is embedding 4G LTE and 4G
HSPA+ technology into its Galaxy Tab 8.9 for sale through AT&T's direct
channels beginning Nov. 20 at $479 with a two-year
commitment.

It will be the second LTE/HSPA+ tablet from
AT&T following the launch
earlier this year
of the Android-based Jetstream made by HTC. It currently
retails for $649 with a 10.1-inch screen with two-year contract.

AT&T's other cellular-embedded tablets
incorporate 3G. They are the Apple iPad2, 7-inch Galaxy Tab, and Acer Iconia
Tab A501.

For a limited
time, customers who buy the Galaxy
Tab 8.9 get a free Samsung
Galaxy S II Skyrocket or Samsung Galaxy S smartphone with required two-year service
agreement. The Tab and free phones are all Android-based.

AT&T's LTE service is available in nine
markets with six more to come on Nov. 20, when the carrier turns on Charlotte, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Oklahoma
City and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

to AT&T, the 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 features Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) OS, 8.9-inch HD 1,280- by 800-pixel widescreen display, Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual-core processor,
16GB of embedded memory,
32GB add-on memory, 1GB RAM, 3.2-megapixel
rear-facing camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera,
tabbed browsing, and
Adobe Flash and HTML support.
