Fujifilm, Sprint Team For Online Cam-Phone Printing

Valhalla, N.Y. — Sprint and Fujifilm announced yesterday that Sprint has integrated Fujifilm’s Get the Picture Online digital image ordering service into Sprint’s Picture Mail online photo Web site.

The move lets Sprint Picture Mail customers order photo prints from images taken with their Sprint camera phones and have them printed at participating Fujifilm retail locations. The images can be picked up in-store, in some cases in a matter of hours after the order was placed. Print pricing is set by individual retailers.

Currently, Ritz Camera, Sam’s Club and Wolf Camera are offering the service as Get the Picture Online members. Fujifilm expects to expand the service to its other Get the Picture Online retail partners in time.

Sprint customers can purchase a Sprint PCS Vision Pictures Pack for $15 per month, in addition to their current service plan that gives users an unlimited ability to send images over Sprint’s network, unlimited Sprint PCS Vision access, 100 SMS text messages, and up to $5 credit per month towards the download of premium services.

Fujifilm’s Get the Picture Online is an effort to drive digital photography back to brick-and-mortar retailers. It lets participating retailers have access to an Internet ordering database that refers online customers back to brick-and-mortar photofinishers for digital photo development. Using the service, customers upload digital photos and pick up the prints in-store. There are currently 5,000 individual retail locations equipped to process orders via Get the Picture Online.
