Fujifilm Debuts Five New Digicams

Valhalla, N.Y. – Fujifilm announced a raft of new FinePix digital cameras today including three new cameras incorporating the company’s fourth-generation Super CCD HR technology.

Four of the five new cameras and a Universal Picture Cradle USB dock will ship in August.

The cameras include the entry-level 2-megapixel FinePix A205, which features a 3x optical/ 2.5x digital zoom lens. The A205 offers 10 frames/second AVI movie capture.

The camera will have a suggested price of $199.95.

The FinePix A210 is a 3.2-megapixel camera with a 3x optical/ 3.2x digital zoom and a suggested retail price of $279.95.

Incorporating Fujifilm’s proprietary Super CCD HR image sensor, the FinePix A310 features 3.1 million effective pixels which can produce images at a resolution of 6-megapixels. The camera sports a 3x optical/2.9x digital zoom lens and can captures 10 frames/second of AVI movie without sound. In addition, the A310 offers four shooting modes as well as continuous autofocus and three color modes. The camera will be available at a suggested retail price of $299.95.

Targeted toward the more sophisticated user, the FinePix S5000 sports a 10x optical zoom for a suggested retail of $499.95. The camera, which also features the Super CCD HR, features a 3.1-megapixel sensor that produces a 6-megapixel image. The camera offers full manual controls and QVGA movie recording with sound.

Finally, the 6.3-megapixel FinePix S7000 sports a 6x optical/3.2x digital zoom, full manual controls, including RAW file capture and dual slot media storage devices. The FinePix S7000, which employs the company’s new Super CCD HR, offers full VGA movie recording with sound at 30 frames per second. The S7000 ships in October for a suggested retail price of $799.95.

Fujifilm also announced the Universal CP-FXA10 Picture Cradle system for the FinePix A-series of cameras. The USB cradle allows users to download images to a PC, recharge the camera’s battery and enables the camera to function as a Web-cam. The cradle can also connect to a TV for viewing images.

The Universal Cradle will sell separately for a suggested $74.95.
