FreshBattery Debuts Laptop Replacement Batteries

8/08/2007 09:57:00 AM Eastern

Irvine, Calif. — FreshBattery, an online source for built-to-order notebook computer batteries, launched its Legacy Power line of new batteries for more than 1,500 older laptop models.

Users with Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, IBM-Lenovo, Apple, Toshiba, Sony, Dell and other laptops can install Legacy Power replacement batteries to improve performance, said FreshBattery. Also, the replacement batteries support some models that have been discontinued for more than three to five years, and in many cases are no longer available for purchase from the OEM.

According to Bob Schaffer, FreshBattery business development VP, “Battery cells available today allow users to get greater battery capacity into their older machines. For example, an original Apple PowerBook G4 15-inch Titanium with 3600 mAh cells would run for two and a half hours. Now with a FreshBattery Legacy Power replacement battery that uses 4400 mAh cells, that same computer will run for three hours and 10 minutes.”

Pricing varies for the batteries, but the company said in a release that more than two-thirds of the Legacy Power batteries are priced under $100. A Legacy Power battery for the Apple Titanium Powerbook retails for $89.99.
