Epson 3LCD Projector Targets Gamers

4/17/2012 09:53:09 AM Eastern
Long Beach, Calif. - Epson Americaintroduced Tuesday the PowerLite Home Cinema 710HD 3LCD home-theater projector targeting families, video gamers and newbie home-theater owners.

The low-cost projector (shipping to stores nationally this month at a $649 suggested retail) offers 720p HD video resolution and can accommodate screen sizes 120 inches and larger.

Epson said the unit was designed for fast and simple setup and operation. It can be placed on a tabletop, entertainment center or mounted to a ceiling 3.5 to 35.5 feet from the wall or screen.

Epson has included an Easy-Slide image-correction system -- an intuitive horizontal keystone-adjustment slide control bar that allows placing the projector off-center from the screen and easily centering the image with the touch of a finger.

Brightness is rated at 2,800 lumens from Epson's E-TORL lamp technology, which Epson said provides optimum light uniformity, increased light output and minimized light diffraction/leakage. Lamp life is rated to 5,000 hours of lamp life.

It also supports instant-on/instant-off technology.

"Whether it's a blockbuster movie, live sporting event or video game, the Home Cinema 710HD offers a great home entertainment experience at an affordable price," said Kristi Lanzit, Epson America product manager. "Delivering high-quality 720p output, the Home Cinema 710HD delivers rich, vibrant images for a true large-screen cinematic experience that you can't get in a TV for the same price."

The Home Cinema 710HD is equipped with built-in speakers, HDMI and USB connectivity and includes four preset color modes optimized for various viewing environments.

A special color mode is provided for gaming in well lit rooms.

Epson backs the product with its top-of-the-line service and support, including a two-year limited warranty with toll-free access to Epson's PrivateLine priority technical support, 90-day limited lamp warranty and free two-business-day exchange with Extra Care Home Service.
