eMachines Intros New Mini PC Desktops

Irvine, Calif. — eMachines today introduced the EL1300 series, a two-unit, small-form-factor desktop line, along with a new LCD monitor.

The EL1300 is eMachines’ second-generation small-form-factor desktop, and the company adopted a new industrial design and is offering the unit with a shiny white color scheme with green LED accent lighting, said Glenn Jystad, senior manager, desktop products.

The entry-level EL1300G-01, $298 suggested retail, has a 1.6Ghz AMD Athlon 2650e processor with 512KB of L2 cache, an Nvidia GeForce 6150SE graphics, 2GB of DDR2 memory, 160GB 7,200 rpm hard drive, DVD SuperMulti Drive, Vista Home Basic and nine USB ports. It is Energy Star compliant.

The step-up EL1300G-02w has the same specifications but comes with a 20-inch widescreen display. Its suggested retail is $398.

The new monitor offering is the E182H. It is an 18.5-inch unit with 16:9 ratio, and is 720p HD ready via DVI with HDCP. Suggested retail is $119.
