Littleton, Colo. – EchoStar will offer up to 100 new international TV channels this summer on DISH Network.
The offerings, which will be presented as part of a ‘one-dish solution’ for International services, will be available to customers interested in news, sports and entertainment from around the world.
The new channels will be carried, in part, on the new EchoStar IX satellite that is slated for launch later this year. The new services will come from around the world including* following areas: Africa, China, India, South Korea, the Middle East, the Philippines, Vietnam, EchoStar said.
Currently, the company’s DISH Network provides 42 channels of international programming in more than a dozen different languages.
As part of the effort, EchoStar said it will provide a ‘complete turn-key broadcast solution for international programmers,’ including billing, call centers and in-language customer service, set-top boxes, encryption, uplink services, and nationwide sales and installation support.
EchoStar will also assist International programmers in transporting their signals to the EchStar uplink facilities in the United States.
