City of Industry, Calif. — Digital camera maker DXG will ship its first HD camcorder with direct uploading capability to dealers this month.
The $179 DXG-567V records 1,280 by 720 video at 30 fps or 5-megapixel still images to 32MB of internal memory or SDHC memory cards.
A “rapid blog manager” software is included with the camcorder and launches automatically when the unit’s retractable USB cable is connected to a computer. Using the software, consumers can upload videos to personal Web sites, blogs or YouTube.
The device also ships with an S-Video and composite-video cable, rechargeable AA batteries and ArcSoft TotalMedia Extreme software for viewing and editing video.
Additional features include a 2x digital zoom and a 2-inch LCD display.
It will be sold in black, red, pink and blue.
