DSI Holds Its First Vendor Summit

Des Moines, Iowa –
DSI Systems held its first annual Vendor Summit at its corporate headquarters
Sept. 21-22, drawing executives from 30 CE manufacturers.

More than 100 DSI
and vendor executives from top suppliers met. Manufacturers included Applied
Instruments, Audiovox, Channel Master, Chief, Haier, LG, Mitsubishi, Monster
Cable, Onkyo, Pinnacle Speakers, Pioneer, Sennheiser, Sharp, Toshiba, Universal
Remote, Yamaha and others.

In a prepared
statement, Dave Robison, CEO of DSI, said the message of the meeting was, “The
independent retailer channel is the only sure bet for manufacturers. We believe
that manufacturers should take a closer look at the significant market share
and ongoing strength of this channel as they make their plans for 2010 and
beyond. By partnering with DSI Systems, we can work together to deliver the
products and selling tools that independent retailers can utilize more
effectively in their own market.”

The itinerary
included a reception on the evening of Sept. 21, followed by a business meeting
the next morning and a choice of a golf outing or an outdoor excursion to spend
time with DSI’s management.

Robison noted, “DSI
is a family-owned business, and we believe that our employees and our vendors
are part of that family. This event was planned with the intention of getting
to know one another on a personal basis and expanding our many important relationships
beyond the everyday phone calls and emails. I believe that we accomplished that
goal.”
