DLNA Adds CableLabs Exec To Its Board

Portland, Ore. – The
Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) announced that Amol Bhagwat, senior
architect at CableLabs, has joined its board of directors.

As an elected director, Bhagwat will join the current
representatives from Broadcom, Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung,
Sony and Technicolor tasked with overseeing the development of standards that
promote sharing of content across networked consumer electronics, PC and mobile
products, regardless of manufacturer.

“DLNA is committed to working with service providers to
bring premium commercial video to products in the digital home,” said Nidhish
Parikh, chairman and president of DLNA. “CableLabs is a DLNA promoter member,
and their work within the alliance and the cable industry demonstrates their
dedication to the evolution of cable networks, services and operations.”

CableLabs is a non-profit research and development
consortium that helps its cable system operator members pursue and implement
the latest technical advancements.
