DISH Gets MLB Extra Innings

Englewood, Colo. – EchoStar announced it would add Major League Baseball’s MLB Extra Innings service to its DISH Network, beginning this spring.

The service, which will become part of DISH Network’s Season Ticket offerings, will enable the satellite TV provider’s 9.4 million subscribers to view out-of-market baseball games, beginning April 5 and ending Oct. 3, 2004. Customers can purchase the Extra Innings package for an “early bird price” of $149 through April 18, after which the price will rise to $169.

The service, which is already carried by rival DirecTV, will provide up to 60 out-of-market regular season games per week to subscribers.

A free preview will be available to all DISH Network customers from Monday, April 5 through Sunday, April 11 on channels 625-639.

The Extra Innings package will be added to a range of sports packages available on DISH Network, including: NBA League Pass, NHL Center Ice, ESPN Full Court, ESPN Game Plan, ESPN College Grand Slam, Barclaycard English Premier League and MLS Direct Kick.
