Vista, Calif. — Vehicle security supplier Directed Electronics said it acquired the assets of Astroflex, a remote-starter vendor based in Canada, for an undisclosed sum.
Directed said it expects the acquisition will add $5.5 million to its gross product sales in 2006. More details on the acquisition will be provided next week when Directed, which recently went public, releases its quarterly earnings, it said.
Astroflex, located in Sherbrooke, Quebec, was founded in 1989 and was privately owned by Jean Desmarais, who will continue to lead the company, said Directed.
