Dulles, Va. – Independent IT
distributor Digitek Computer Products has completed the acquisition of Capital
Media Group (CMG), a national wholesaler of data storage media products and
accessories.
The move gives Digitek “a broader,
more robust product portfolio,” the company said, while Capital Media’s
facility in Gahanna, Ohio, will provide a fourth sales and distribution center.
Digitek CEO Paul Martorana said both
businesses share deep roots in the reseller and small-to-medium-business
marketplace and “a vision to bridge the critical link between manufacturers and
resellers, bring value to the distribution chain and provide their industry
leading logistics capabilities to the reseller market.”
Tony Somers, president of Capital
Media Group, said the companies also share similar cultures and have developed
a close-working relationship. “Our collective strengths will create an optimal
customer experience whether dealing directly with our team or through our
state-of-the-art online tools,” he said.
Digitek is one of the country’s
largest privately-held distributors of imaging supplies, data storage products,
printers and accessories, with distribution centers in California, Illinois, Virginia
and now Ohio that can cover 97 percent of the U.S. population in two days or
less, the company said.
