Digeo Inks Moxi DVR Order With BendBroadband

Kirkland, Wash. — Multimedia cable TV equipment developer Digeo said Thursday that BendBroadband will begin deploying its new Moxi HD DVR 3012 digital cable set-top box to customers in central Oregon.

Digeo said the announcement marks the second order and deployment of its next-generation DVR that incorporates a dual HD-tuner.

The Moxi 3012 also includes the Moxi Menu user interface and a package of advanced features, including full DVR functionality, multi-stream CableCARD support, remote Web scheduling capability, external storage options (up to 1TB) and extensive data mining via the Moxi portal.

Although the box will support bi-directional communication between the BendBroadband head end and the subscriber’s home, it will not incorporate the new Tru2way bi-directional CableCARD technology, which is planned for future models. The Multi-stream CableCARD included in the HD DVR 3012 will enable tuning two channels simultaneously, however.

The Oregon cable operator will lease the box to subscribers.

BendBroadband is a technology pioneer that’s known for providing industry leading services.” stated Greg Gudorf, CEO of Digeo. “We’re confident that Bend’s customers will enjoy the new Moxi 3012.”

“There is simply no better user interface available than Moxi due to its ease of use and functionality,” stated Amy Tykeson, BendBroadband president and CEO. “The Moxi 3012 HD DVR has the features and interactivity that customers want at an improved price point. We are excited to introduce the next generation of Moxi to our Central Oregon customers.”

The Moxi HD DVR 3012 is targeted for deployment to Bend customers during fourth-quarter 2008.
