Harrisburg, Pa. —D&H Distributing will offer special pricing and buying incentives on a variety of products as part of its Digital Holiday Focus Month in November.
“This is a critical time for us to offer our support. It’s the last big opportunity for dealers to bring up their numbers for the year, so we’ve centered our Focus Month around some of our most recession-proof categories and we’ve supplemented our staff,” said Jeff Davis, sales senior VP at D&H. “It’s part of our strategy to help boost our customers’ bottom lines for 2008.”
Throughout November, D&H customers will have access to special deals on a variety of consumer electronics devices including GPS units, MP3 players, LCD displays, home theater systems, unlocked cellphones, digital imaging devices and small appliances. The distributor said the products will be from manufacturers including Motorola, Garmin, Haier, Logitech, Magellan, Nokia, Olympus, Samsung, Sony and more. Resellers are advised to check with their account executives for information on specific offers.
D&H said it has “experienced several record-setting sales months in its home entertainment and gaming divisions this year, despite the perceived recession.” It said its home entertainment division sales are up 20 percent year-over-year and its gaming sales are up 30 percent year-over-year.
“Although there’ve been a lot of grumblings about the economy, home entertainment has been a real bright spot, and that’s typical for tough times. Consumers would rather put their money toward in-home equipment rather than comparatively pricey vacations or big luxury items,” said Davis.
The company said growth in home entertainment and gaming led it to add new sales personnel in both divisions, including a dedicated rent-to-own market specialist.
