Colorado Springs, Colo.
– Devium announced it will begin shipping Android versions of its Dash car
audio unit in September.
The Dash is a head unit
that allows a user’s smartphone to be the interface for a car stereo. The first
Dash-compatible Android phones will be the Motorola Atrix and Razr and the
Samsung Galaxy line of phones, Devium said.
The double-DIN Dash
comes with interchangeable faceplates for use with different phones, Bluetooth,
aux-in port, FM tuner, and the ability to tag a user’s top five apps to appear
in landscape mode. The FM tuner will automatically switch over to a radio
station’s streaming audio site when signal is lost.
It also has video
pass-through capabilities.
The iPhone version is
scheduled to begin shipping in July.
