DBL To Offer Hitachi DVD Camcorders

Scottsdale, Ariz. — DBL Distributing, national consumer electronics wholesaler, has signed a new distribution agreement with Hitachi that will allow it to offer Hitachi’s line of DVD camcorders.

Hitachi’s DZHS300A model, a 680K DVD/HDD hybrid camcorder, is among the spate of products that DBL will carry. The camcorder lets users capture their movies directly to its built-in 8GB hard drive and to later transfer them to DVDs for preservation with the push of a button, eliminating the need to transfer the data to a PC.

The DZHS300A features a 25X optical zoom, a 2.7-inch wide LCD screen, an SD memory-card slot and electronic image stabilization.

DBL is also offering Hitachi’s DZGX3300A, a CCD DVD camcorder that features 10X optical zoom, 3.3 megapixels, a 2.7-inch wide LCD screen, remote control and a variety of accessories. DBL says it will offer a free Hitachi Memory Album set to be included with every DZGX3300A model purchased through the distributor while supplies last. The set includes two custom memory-storage albums with label windows and 12 Maxell DVD-R discs.

The hybrid camcorders are available immediately through DBL’s Web site or by contacting a sales associate. The company said it plans to feature a full line of Hitachi camcorders and accessories in its upcoming spring/summer catalog.

DBL has also recently partnered with Wi-Ex, manufacturer of a line of cellphone signal extenders.

In other company news, DBL appears to be in the midst of an overhaul of its executive structure with its recent series of new hires and promotions including that of Henry Chiarelli to chief merchandising officer.
