CyberLink Announces Blu-ray Video Software

Taipei, Taiwan —CyberLink has introduced PowerProducer 5 for authoring Blu-ray discs and DVDs with video recorded by AVCHD camcorders.

The software will be available in an Ultra version for $79 and a standard DVD version without Blu-ray authoring for $49. Users of PowerProducer 4 and 3 can upgrade their products to Ultra 5 for $49 as well, the company said.

PowerProducer Ultra features a new user interface and added design tools for creating disc menus using personal photos and videos. The software is BD-RE 3.0 certified, meaning it can rerecord and create menus on Blu-ray discs. It supports the AVCHD format and 5.1 channel Dolby Digital in addition to on-disc editing.

The software connects with CyberLink’s DirectorZone Web site where users can download free DVD menu templates and access user-generated content. A “magic movie wizard” feature automatically creates a movie from a consumer’s digital files while “magic clean” will adjust lighting and remove noise from a video scene.
