Control4’s Smart Appliance App/Module Becomes Available

Salt Lake City –
Control4 said its Smart Appliance app and Smart Appliance module, developed by
Card Access for Sub-Zero and Wolf Appliance, are now available.

The Smart Appliance module
uses Card Access’ wireless networking design and Control4’s ZigBee Pro mesh
networking, allowing the module to completely integrate into a Control4 system
and enhance functionality of select Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.

All new Sub-Zero
built-in refrigerator models and Wolf E-series wall ovens are manufactured to
accommodate the aftermarket installation of the new Smart Appliance module,
Control4 said, while existing models must be outfitted with the module after
receiving an update from a Sub-Zero and Wolf factory-certified service
technician.

The free app enables
consumers to manage energy, create actionable alerts and review appliance
diagnostics. Such uses include increasing ice production before parties, the
company noted, as well as saving energy while on vacation. There is even a
Sabbath mode.

The module also provides
error codes and alerts, which users can give directly to Sub-Zero and Wolf
factory-certified service.

The group joins a
growing list manufacturers that offer smart majaps that can remotely monitored
and/or controlled, including

LG

and

Kenmore
