Conn’s Q1 Sales Soar 11.2%

Beaumont, Texas — Conn’s, the 47-store CE, majaps, bedding and garden products chain based here, reported total sales for its first fiscal quarter, ended April 30, rose 11.2 percent to $118.6 million, while same-store sales grew 3.5 percent.

“We expected same store sales for this quarter and the balance of the year to return to more realistic levels,” chairman/CEO Tom Frank said in a statement. Comparable store sales for the preceding quarter had soared 11.7 percent.

“The good news,” Frank continued, “is that our programs in the track [power aisle], bedding, and lawn and garden categories are continuing to have positive impact on our sales. Even better, we believe that our ability to control costs will show up in the bottom line.”

Conn’s is a member of the NATM Buying Corp.
