Cobra iRadar Wins 7th Award

Chicago – Cobra Electronics reports its Cobra iRadar Detection
System has been recognized by the Industrial Designer Society of America (IDSA)
with a 2011 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA).

This is the seventh award for design and innovation bestowed
upon Cobra iRadar since its market introduction in the fourth quarter of 2010,
the company said.

Cobra received the Silver IDEA award in the Communication
Tools category, which included entrants in areas such as telephones, VoIP
phones, cell phones, smartphones, PDAs, navigation devices, headsets, accessories
and more.

The IDEA 2011 judging was based on a diverse set of
industrial design excellence criteria, including innovation, benefit to the
user, social responsibility, client benefit, visual appeal, design aesthetic
and more.

Cobra iRadar is the first detection system to combine radar,
laser, and speed and red-light camera detection technology for iPhone and
Android smartphones, the company said. It consists of the dash-mounted Cobra
iRadar detector unit combined with the free Cobra iRadar app. Cobra iRadar
pairs the detector with the smartphone using Bluetooth, and together allows
users to view radar alerts, control settings, log alert history and be alerted
to upcoming speed and red-light cameras.

Cobra iRadar for iPhone and Cobra iRadar for Android are
currently available at traditional and online retailers nationwide for $129.
