Dallas – AT&T will offer the
Android-based 4G-equipped Cius tablet from Cisco through its business channels
sometime in the fall, the companies announced.
AT&T
and Cisco are jointly collaborating with third-party developers to create
business applications for the tablet.
The
1.15-pound device will feature 7-inch, multi-touch widescreen color display
with 1,024 by 600 resolution, dual front- and rear-facing cameras, micro and
standard USB ports, 32GB of embedded memory, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/, and
Bluetooth. Its dimensions are 8.85 by 5.5 by 0.59 inches.
The device will support such business
applications as interoperable HD video communications, conferencing, presence,
instant messaging, and desktop virtualization, among others, the companies said.
In the office, the Cius will sit in an optional high definition media station to
connect to the wired network. It will supports voice and video calls in a wired
environment.
