Circuit City Promotes Three Executives

Richmond, Va. — Circuit City is promoting three senior managers to executive VP.

Effective March 1, retail store president George Clark, chief marketing officer Fiona Dias and chief merchandising officer Doug Moore will add executive VP titles to their positions.

“The promotions of Danny, Fiona and Doug to executive vice president reflect the strength of our leadership team as we begin fiscal year 2007,” said president/CEO Phil Schoonover. “I will look to them to continue to drive key business objectives, such as leading our cultural transformation at retail, enhancing our merchandising performance and improving our multichannel advertising effectiveness as part our efforts to build a new Circuit City.”

Clark, 46, joined the company in 1983. He was promoted to store manager in 1987, district manager in 1992 and regional VP in 1993. Clark was named assistant VP in 1995, VP and central division president in 1997, eastern division president in 2002, and senior VP in 2003. In 2004 he was named general merchandise manager for technology, and was promoted to retail stores president in 2005.

Dias, 40, joined Circuit City in 2000 as marketing senior VP. She was named president of Circuit City Direct in 2003 and chief marketing officer in 2005. Before joining the company, she was chief marketing officer at Stick Networks, a wireless software company. Prior to that, she was marketing and development VP for Frito-Lay, corporate development VP at Pennzoil Quaker State, and held various brand management positions with Procter and Gamble.

Moore, 49, joined Circuit City in 1990 as a regional manager for the roadshop division. He was named regional VP in 1995 and became corporate operations assistant VP in 1997. Moore was named general manager of the builder appliance sales division in 1998, senior national buyer in 1999, imagingdivisional merchandising manager in 2000, and director of merchandising operations in 2002. In 2003, he became western division president and senior VP, and was named merchandising senior VP in 2004. He was promoted to chief merchandising officer last year.
