CES 2011 LG, T-Mobile Team On Android Tablet

LAS VEGAS -T-Mobile plans in the
coming months to offer an Android 3.0-powered 4G tablet operating on T-Mobile’s
HSPA+ network.

The device will be called the T-Mobile
G-Slate with Google by LG. It will be among the first tablets, including a
Motorola-made Xoom 4G tablet for Verizon’s 3G and 4G networks, to use the
tablet-optimized Android 3.O OS, also called Honeycomb.

The companies declined to offer
many details, but they said the Honeycomb OS improves on Android favorites such
as widgets, multi-tasking, browsing, notifications and customization. It will
also include  the latest Google Mobile advances,
such as Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction, collection of more than 3 million Google
eBooks, and Google Talk with video and voice chat.

The companies also declined to
specify price or a precise availability date.
