NAD Debuts 1st Headphones

DENVER — NAD Electronics will debut at CEDIA its first-ever headphones, the pro-grade Viso HP50. The full-size, over-the-ear headphones feature Room Feel technology, which adds low-frequency room gain that one would expect from loudspeakers in a room, adding deep bass and a lifelike sonic experience, the company said. They contain a pair of ultra-low mass, high-excursion 40mm drivers and oxygen-free copper wiring.

The NAD HP50 will retail for $299 and are available now in black, white or red gloss finishes.

Panamax Shows SmartPlug

DENVER — Panamax will be exhibiting its MD2-ZB SmartPlug, which provides energy monitoring, individual outlet control, scheduled power conservation, and surge protection in a compact form factor that plugs directly into any standard 120-volt, 15- amp outlet.

Via ZigBee, the MD2-ZB can be monitored, controlled, programmed and remotely accessed with Panamax/Furman’s Cloud-based BlueBolt energy-management and control platform using a wired BB-ZB1 gateway.

The platform provides real-time and historical power-related data, including energy consumption in kilowatt hours and dollars, allowing integrators to schedule conservation periods to eliminate wasted power and decrease utility bills, the company said.

In addition, Panamax and sister company Furman have added BlueBolt network-management capabilities to their existing power conditioning and battery backup components to monitor and maintain network reliability.

The new products will be demonstrated in booth 1120.

Clarus Intros USB 2.0 Cables

DENVER — Clarus is at CEDIA to introduce its Crimson series USB 2.0 cable for digital audio applications.

Engineered to preserve signal integrity and minimize jitter and noise, the Crimson USB cable is manufactured from heavy-gauge PCOCC copper and features 20AWG power conductors to ensure there is adequate current flow to USB audio devices.

One-meter cables will retail for $250 and 2-meter lengths will be $350. Clarus is in booth 2321.

RTI Exhibits LCD Control Panel

DENVER — RTI Products is debuting at CEDIA its T2x touchscreen controller with a flush-mount edge-to-edge 2.8-inch customizable TFT color LCD interface and 47 programmable hard buttons for common control functions.

The touchscreen can be customized with RTI’s Integration Designer software and is designed to provide users with improved gesture support, such as swiping through scrolling lists.

It includes three built-in wireless modes for control: integrated 802.11b/g wireless Ethernet and a dual-RF platform which supports both 433MHz RF for one-way control and 2.4GHz ZigBee for bi-directional communication with RTI processors and supported third-party electronics.
