CEA chairman Darrell Issa won the Republican nomination for the open San Diego seat to Congress.
According to CEA, because Issa’s district is heavily Republican, a general election win in November is anticipated.
“Darrell was in a crowded field of some 11 candidates and captured 35% of the vote, compared to 23% for his nearest opponent,” said CEA president Gary Shapiro. “This is terrific news not only for Darrell but for our association, as it is extraordinary for a trade group to have a sitting chairman [or a member] be elected to Congress.”
