CEA Reveals Innovations Nominees

New York — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of International CES and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), has announced its Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards honorees.

The awards highlight product advancements in technology design and engineering. Here is te complete list of the honorees 2007 Best Of Innovations Honorees .

“With a record number of more than 1,000 product entries in 2007, the Innovations program continues to expand and gain prestige each year,” said Gary Shapiro, president/CEO, CEA. “The 2007 Innovations honorees represent some of the most innovative product designs in consumer electronics, and we are thrilled that they will be showcased at the 2007 International CES.”

Winning entries from 29 product categories will be displayed at the Innovations Plus at the Sands Expo and Convention/The Venetian. In addition to housing the prestigious Innovations honorees, the Innovations Plus at the Sands/Venetian will feature emerging technology exhibits and hot product TechZones including the Anytime, Anywhere TechArena, Bluetooth, Consumer VoIP, Gaming, IPTV, Mobile & Personal Broadband, Robotics and the Studio@Home TechZone. Additionally, the CES keynotes, high-performance audio and home theater exhibits and CES Unveiled will be featured at the Sands/Venetian.

The International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards program provides manufacturers and developers the opportunity to have their products judged by an independent panel of journalists, designers and engineers. Judges review and evaluate each entry based on engineering qualities (including technical specifications and materials used), the product’s intended use/function, unique/novel features, impacts on the manufacturer’s business model and aesthetic and design qualities (using visuals provided).

The Best of Innovations designation is awarded to products that earned the highest honors from the panel of judges.These “best of the best” products will be displayed at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the CES from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 6, in the Marco Polo Ballroom at the Venetian.
