CEA Consumer Confidence Indexes Rise

Arlington, Va. – The Consumer Electronics Association’s Consumer
Index of Consumer Technology Expectations has reached a new high this month.

The Index hit 93.7, up almost 8 points compared to the previous
month, and the highest since the CEA introduced the Index in January 2007. The
Index is comprised of the Consumer Index of Consumer Technology Expectations
(ICTE) and the Consumer Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE).

 The latter tracks general
consumer confidence in the economy and reached 174.7 in December. This is its
highest level since June 2009. This is the fifth consecutive month that is has
increased and is up 9.5 points from this time last year, the CEA reported.
