CEA Attempts To Bolster PARA Confidence

Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is holding its PARA Retailer Conference March 7-9, at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Fla. In order to encourage registration, CEA reported that it intends to host the first 30 PARA dealer principals to register, offering them free conference registration and three free nights at the conference hotel. The association also said it plans to encourage non-PARA dealers and installers to participate by awarding them a free first year of CEA membership when they register and attend.

In a release announcing CEA’s plans, Kerry Moyer, PARA’s executive director, said, “This year’s conference hits right at the heart of PARA’s two core values — education and training. Our speakers and informal sessions, located next to Electronics House Expo Spring (EHX), will offer the PARA dealer and installer resources they can put into action to grow their businesses as well as their business acumen.”

The conference will feature a keynote address from Dr. Jeff DeGraff of the University of Michigan Center for Leadership, Change and Innovation, as well as a speech by former president and CEO of Porsche AG, Peter W. Schultz, who is expected to address how business owners can create a lasting competitive advantage.

Other event highlights include two interactive sessions, one featuring an introduction on strategic planning concepts and decision making and another on applying financial basics to one’s business.
