Casio Debuts Digicams With YouTube Model

Dover, N.J. — Casio will ship a pair of digital cameras in August with built-in software for recording and uploading video to YouTube.

A new YouTube capture mode on the Exilim EX-S880 and Z77 captures MPEG-4/H.264 format video at VGA resolution at 30 fps. Included YouTube Uploader software lets users upload multiple videos simultaneously to YouTube through a three step process.

Casio said it will have the marketing exclusivity for the YouTube feature during this holiday season. Models offering the YouTube mode will be emblazoned with a YouTube logo.

In addition to video capture, both cameras offer the eBay Best Shot mode, a blur-reduction mode that uses motion analysis and facial tracking to stabilize images, an anti-shake DSP, digitally stabilized movie recording and 3x optical zoom lenses.

The 8.1-megapixel EX-S880 sports a 2.8-inch widescreen LCD and will ship in red and black for a suggested $299.

The 7.2-megapixel EX-Z77 offers a 2.6-inch display; the Easy Mode, which debuted in several 2006 models; and a choice of silver, black, blue and pink colors. It will retail for a suggested $229.

The hardware deal is not the first for the Google-owned YouTube. The company recently struck a deal to embed its software onto LG phones.
