Casio Adds HD Video to New Digital Camera

Dover, N.J. — Casio will ship three new digital cameras to dealers this October.

The 10-megapixel Exilim EX-Z300 and 9-megapixel EX-Z250 incorporates the third generation of Casio’s Exilim Engine image processor. The new engine enables the cameras to automatically correct for low light or over-exposed scenes and powers a new Makeup feature that applies retouches to faces in a photograph.

Consumers can choose to retouch a face on a scale of 1 to 12, from weak to strong, and preview the effect on the cameras’ LCD. The Z300 will feature a button dedicated to the makeup function.

Both cameras will offer a 4x optical, 28mm zoom lens, CCD-shifting image stabilization, a 3-inch LCD and H.264-format video recording.

The $249 EX-Z250 will ship in silver and black.

The Z300, for $299, adds 1,280 by 720 HD video recording, and a new multiple-shot mode, which will take a series of photos of a moving subject (at 3 megapixels) and combine them into a single photo.

It will be sold in silver, black and pink.

The 9-megapixel EX-Z85 will retail for $179 and come in brown and orange. It features a 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.6-inch LCD screen.

Additional features include face detection, an auto-shutter function that will only record an image when the camera stops shaking, and a customizable menu screen and focus frames.
